After his mother’s death, Birahima sets out in search of his aunt, crossing several countries devastated by civil war. To survive in such chaos, he is recruited by various armed factions. Through his naïve, raw, and often ironic perspective, both the film and the novel denounce the horrors of war, the exploitation of children, and the absurdity of violence. Narrated by a fictional Gaul, this 6-minute short film aims to dismantle common clichés about the Gauls by blending humor with historical accuracy. It highlights their cultural diversity, their agriculture-based daily life, their advanced urban planning, and their gradual integration into Roman culture following the conquest led by Julius Caesar. Through lively, humorous staging and stylized animation, the film reveals that the Gauls were far more sophisticated than the stereotypes perpetuated by popular imagination. On Santa Cruz Island in California, the world’s smallest foxes—known as island foxes (Urocyon littoralis)—can be found. Endemic to the Channel Islands, these foxes are distinct from their mainland relatives in both morphology and behavior, having evolved in isolation to adapt to the island’s unique and fragile ecosystem. Their ecological role is critical: as apex predators, they help regulate populations of smaller animals and maintain ecological balance. However, in such a sensitive environment, minor disruptions can have cascading effects—turning predators into prey and transforming their once-secure habitat into a vulnerable refuge. It’s a universal and timeless tale, with the key to its success—and the secret of its genesis—lying in the life of its author, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The documentary covers the last four years of the extraordinary life of the writer-pilot, from his exile in New-York in 1940 to his disappearance in 1944. It’s an intense period for the writer, filled with romantic, political, and artistic intrigues. ‘The Little Prince’ is a shining star of a book. Understanding how this star was born means understanding what unites us, despite the distance and the years. Director Vincent Nguyen and Les Films d’ici Méditerranée trusted us with creating dreamlike 2D keyframe animation sequences for the documentary. We had the privilege of animating evocations of St. Exupéry’s childhood and other moments of reverie. In addition to the 2D scenes, we also contributed to the 3D animation blocking for certain shots. The film is set to be broadcast on Arte at the end of 2023.   Credits Director: Vincent NguyenProduction: Barnabe, Les Films d'ici, Arte France, TV3 3D Animation: EJTSoon on: Arte France, RTVE, TV3, SVT, RTS, RTBF Les Fées Spéciales 2D...

A collaborative research program initiated as part of the Readynov call for projects from the Occitanie Region, for innovative collaborative projects between businesses and research centers. It’s in consortium with the laboratory CEFE (Center for Functional and Evolutionary Ecology, CNRS, Paul Valéry University, University of Montpellier and IRD) and the Lunaret Zoo in Montpellier that we have carried out this program to combine art, science and technology. After several months of research, we have developed The hidden lives of the soil. An augmented reality application that reveals the invisible world hidden under our feet. Evolving into a distinct artistic medium, movie posters narrate the stories of films through characters and actions. Inextricably linked to the promotion of films, both in cinemas and on a large scale through offset printing, movie posters have become an integral part of cinematic history. The Jean Vigo Institute, based in Perpignan, possesses an extensive collection of cinema posters, spanning from the early days of cinema to the present, which they restore, digitize, and showcase. We accompanied the Jean Vigo Institute throughout the process, from conception to creation, and finally to the launch of the Virtual Museum of Cinema Posters.   To visit the museum Credits   Client: Institut Jean Vigo Les Fées Spéciales Artistic director: Marie Saby, Eric Serre Development: Mina Pêcheux Modeling, lighting & rendering: Damien Picard Research engineer: Nathalie Combe Production manager: Natalène Darfeuille [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]...
