This year, the Musée Fabre and Montpellier Métropole de Montpellier decided to celebrate the Faculty of Medicine’s 800th anniversary, with a new edition of the Fabre & the City app.
In it, users discover characters and places that have marked 800 years of history on a geolocated circuit throughout the city.
The application gave the museum with the opportunity to promote two exhibitions featured at the Musée Fabre jointly produced with Montpellier University. The first is at the Hôtel Sabatier d’Espeyran on the history of pharmaceutics, while the second, at the Musée Fabre features links between art and medicine.
The Musée Fabre and the Montpellier Faculty of Medicine acted as our team’s scientific and historical advisors to create several 2D animated paintings. The various scenes enable visitors to discover lost places or to reconnect with the past through certain uses still practiced today, together with related changes in anatomy courses, the cabinet of curiosities, pharmacy and the Hippocratic Oath, etc.
